Christmas Mantel 2011
Hello everyone…I hope your weekend was great. We did. We cut our tree down yesterday! So, we decorated it last night, and finally completed the Christmas décor! I’ve had Christmas storage bins piled all over the house since last week when we brought everything up. Over the course of the week I started decorating and placing things everywhere, moving them around, placing them again…you know the drill.
In the midst of all the decorating, we also finally got around to painting our great room which has been long overdue! I removed curtains, and moved furniture around, and had to clean windows. So that added to all the chaos, but I am SO happy with the new color and really wanted it done before the holidays. So this week, my project is to add the curtain hardware back up and put up new curtain panels. The room is 25x25 and has 6 windows….it feels really bare with nothing on the windows right now. I can’t wait to get new ones!
So, back to the topic at hand…I am sharing my Christmas mantel today. Some pictures are during the day and some some are at night with the candles lit…lots of pictures!
I stuck to greens, brown and silver this year. I used my mercury glass pieces that I used in this tablescape post. I also used pinecones, and birch twigs to make it a little more natural looking.
I followed the tutorial in Michelle’s post at Sweet Something Designs and made this tree out of pinecones! I love how it turned out! I added a little spray of snow to flock it.
